I had my usual day at work work work, and I had THE best burger in London. This place is called Patty & Bun, and they're unique because they were originally a street food cart, but they're just so yummy that now, that they have an actual restaurant right by my work. SCORE. (Corrina, if you're reading this, you would love this burger more than Shake Shack, and that's saying something. It's pretty freakin' good). Unfortunately, I do not have a photo for you, I ate it too fast :')
But what I do have is FUN NEWS. This upcoming weekend, we don't have class on Thursday or Friday, sooo our girl group (remember us, the band... The Tivals) has decided that we are going to Scotland this weekend. Woo! I know what you're thinking... Scotland? Of all places? Well let me just tell you.
We've been back and forth for the past week on what we've been wanting to do. Our very first choice was to go to Dublin, Ireland. However, when it came down to the prices that it was going to cost us by the time we were booking, it had become way too expensive. We had hit the dilemma of whether it was worth the money to spend the money for the weekend in Ireland, or push off that trip for later and plan something entirely new and cheaper for now.
We went with the second option and started throwing around ideas. For a few days, we were on board with Amsterdam. A few of the guys were going there, and I was really excited to go visit the beautiful land of my people in Holland haha (Fun fact: I'm Dutch). When it came down to the logistics, however, it was about the same price to go there as it was for Ireland. Barcelona was an option for a solid 4 hours. We kept trying to find something to do that we were going to enjoy but not break the bank.
It came down to us realizing that we really only have so many weeks here in the United Kingdom, and we wanted to make the most of what we're living in before flying off to another country. Seems reasonable, and you would understand if you were in the situation. England is a beautiful country, and we had only seen one city of it, so we thought, why not make it a full trip and visit up north of the UK?
Here's our plan: 1 night in York, England, 1 night in Newcastle, England, and 2 nights in Edinburgh, Scotland. We found rooms and trains to accommodate to our budget and schedule for the 5 day weekend we had ahead, and booked just about everything today. We would leave Wednesday after class. All I have left is to figure out the trains in order to get the cheapest price. Queue in Merida from Brave, "If you had the chance to change y'er fate, would'ya?" LOL
Look how cute Kensington is today...
