Day 16: Costumes, Colors, & Camden

Today was extremely eventful to say the least. It was jam packed with exploration within the heart of London. We started the morning with our teacher taking a tour of the infamous Globe Theater. It just so happened that the timing was played right because we toured while a rehearsal of Macbeth was taking place. Talk about luck. We couldn't take any pictures, but I took a secret one shhh. The costumes, set, and overall ambience of the whole theatre was phenomenal. I can't wait to go see Midsummer soon -- I can tell it'll be amazing.
Afterwards, we got lunch on the river and wandered through the TATE Modern Museum. Today was their grand opening of a whole new gallery, so it was fun to see all the interesting pieces. One showing in particular was actually a live test of human performance within the public. Cops were riding their horses within the building and shouting at the guests to move from one area to another with verbal force. The point of the piece was to show how people would react to action placed by authority and to see how far people would go. There was one point when a cop yelled at a man eating a banana, and he was so scared and confused, it was hilarious lol.

We ended the day taking a stroll through Camden. We hadn't been here before, so we went to visit our  friends through the Dream Careers program at their summer home. We had dinner there, and I had fajitas (go figure). The restaurant we went to was quite strange. They had a DJ playing, no blasting funky music and strobing (is that a verb?) lights all over the room. It was like 7pm, calm down. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk to one another -- it was interesting to say the least.

CHEERS!
